Head In The Clouds by Broken Spectacles arrives at The Bike Shed Theatre from 2nd to 5th February to kick-off the exciting new Spring Season with tickets to the show available from £5. An odyssey of the skies, and voyage of discovery through the incredible life and adventures of one of France's first female aviators, Marie Marvingt - otherwise known as The Fiancée of Danger. Head In The Clouds is a magical tale of a young woman's yearning for unbound freedom.

Marie Marvingt was no ordinary woman, born in 1875, she had a strong sense up independence following the early death of her mother, and was a true trailblazer. By the age of 15 she had canoed over 400 kilometers from Nancy to Koblenz in Germany - she went on to learn four languages, obtain a degree, become an award-winning cook, a dancer, a gymnast, a swimmer, a fencer and bob-sledder. However, this wasn't quite enough. She longed for something more. She longed to fly.

Helen Adlrich created Broken Spectacles two years ago on a whimsical Wednesday afternoon when the story of Marvingt jumped off the page and begged to be told. With hearts and imaginations a flutter, Aldrich started to create fun, fast and touching theatre for all ages. Broken Spectacles have just received Arts Council funding for their Spring Tour to the Highlands and Islands of Scotland, Halifax and Bath and for theatre workshops with young carers in Torbay.

Told through puppetry, story-telling and physical theatre with live piano, accordion and guitar. This is the greatest true story that history ever forgot.
