Central United under 11's unfortunate to only draw
Central United 2 v 2 Tiverton Youth
A close fought match on Saturday 22 February saw Central United unlucky not to get all 3 points having been 2-0 up and seemingly in full control of the game well into the second half. Tiverton showed great resilience and perseverance to keep at it and were rewarded with 2 goals to even the score, and send both sides home with equal points.
No doubt the lack of recent matches for United showed in the first 15 minutes as the boys looked a bit ragged and disorganised. They then found their rhythm in the second 15 of the half with some lovely football and fully deserved to go ahead just before half time from a superb solo effort by Matthew Williams who slotted home from an acute angle.
Shortly into the second half Zak Milling did well to guide Francis Blewett's shot out of the keepers path and into the net putting Central United 2-0 up. The game seemed won at this point but Tiverton had other ideas and simply didn't give up. Both Tiverton goals came from corners and capitalised on Central's lack of organisation.
In the last 5 matches the Central United boys have won 3, drawn 1 and lost 1 which leaves them 9th in the U 11 division 2 table
