NRG (Tilted Vision) are the film company who have been commissioned to make a film capturing the most important and interesting facts and anecdotes about Exeter Cathedral. It is hoped the film will inspire and excite visitors, predominantly school groups, before they tour the Cathedral itself.

Discover the process that the production company followed in the making of the film and be one of the first to see their work at this exclusive screening.

Come and be an archaeologist for the day! Archaeologists use all sorts of evidence to find out more about people in the past, including their poo! Can you sort which poo belongs to which time period? Get stuck into our fake poo to find all the clues you need to make your historical discovery.

Find out what an archaeologist does and get the chance to meet a real one! Become an archaeologist yourself and take part in our mini-digs. What can you find? How old do you think it is? Are you good at jigsaws? - help us to put back together a pot that was discovered in pieces. Finally, create your own dig to take home using artefacts and plaster.

Come and bounce the day away in the Chapter House.

It’s a place for parents and carers to relax and have a cup of tea or coffee with friends while your little ones bounce away the day for free.

Refreshments will be available to purchase and we will have extra castle activities to try too at a small cost.

Particularly suitable for younger children and toddlers (upper age limit for the bouncy castle is 11 yrs) Your donation will help to ensure that these events can be offered again.

Ancient floor uncovered at Exeter Cathedral

An ancient tiled floor described as the "finest medieval tile pavement surviving in Devon and Cornwall" has been revealed for the first time in decades.

The floor has been uncovered as part of planned renovation work to the Cathedral. It is in a room above a Chapel, which in the Middle Ages was used as the Exchequer and in the 20th century as the Song School for boy choristers.

The decorative tiled floor has intricate patterns and was laid in the late 13th century.

The nearest similar medieval floor is in Winchester Cathedral.

Learn how to use a bow saw and a hand drill safely. Make ‘wood cookies’ to decorate, hang or spin. Our session finishes with a campfire gathering of hot chocolate, snacks and a campfire song.
