Join us as we celebrate the Eucharist. The Boy Choristers, Girl Choristers, Lay Vicars and Choral Scholars of the Cathedral Choir will be joined by the Cathedral Chamber Orchestra (conducted by Andrew Millington) to give a liturgical performance of Schubert’s Mass in G.

University choir to raise Cathedral roof

Exeter University’s top choir are busy rehearsing a lively programme ahead of a special concert at Exeter Cathedral next week.

The University Chapel Choir (made up of 20 of the campus’s best choral singers) will sing Bob Chilcott’s lively A Little Jazz Mass as part of a programme that includes familiar works by Parry and Stanford. The performance takes place in Exeter Cathedral on Saturday 30th May at 19.30

Rugby World Cup role for Maynard girls

The Maynard School choir is one of 20 schools in England and Wales to have been selected to be part of the ceremonies that will officially welcome the teams to Rugby World Cup 2015.

The ceremonies will also include the formal presentation of official Tournament caps and Rugby World Cup 2015 participation medals.

The choir's Organist and Director of Music is Michael Graham. Michael also directs Budleigh Salterton Male Voice Choir and Exeter College Choral Society and is the founder and Artistic Director of Exodus. He is a full time member of Exeter Cathedral Choir.

A programme of music from medieval to modern showcasing Exeter Cathedral choir’s wide liturgical repertoire, including works from (or inspired by) our own 965 year-old Library and Archive.

The concert will include a performance of 'Flyht' by Nicholas O'Neill. This piece was composed for the 700th anniversary of Exeter College (Oxford) and sets to music selections from our own Exeter Book and other words by Samuel Wesley.

The Sixteen and Harry Christophers take a trip back to 16th-century Spain and more specifically to one of the biggest, richest and most cosmopolitan cities on earth - Seville. It was during this Spanish ‘golden age’ when arts and culture flourished, that Francisco Guerrero and Alonso Lobo made their mark. Between them these two composers capture an astonishing variety of moods within their music, from ecstasy and joy to despair, longing and devotional stillness.
