Exeter Chiefs take their seven-game winning streak to Kingsholm this Saturday with flanker James Scaysbrook insisting he and his team-mates must maintain their recent momentum over a busy festive period for the Devon club. After back-to-back Heineken Cup victories over the Scarlets in the past fortnight, the Chiefs return to Aviva Premiership action against Gloucester this weekend, before then tackling Bath and Northampton Saints in successive weeks. It's signals the start of a crucial period in the season for the sixth-placed Chiefs, but one which 30-year-old Scaysbrook says the club are...
Having written one new chapter into the history books of Exeter Rugby Club a week ago, the Chiefs penned another equally exciting tale of triumph as they saw off the Scarlets for a second successive game - Chiefs 30 - Scarlets 20.
Rob Baxter’s side followed up their maiden Heineken Cup scalp in West Wales by producing an equally impressive repeat performance in the latest re-run at Sandy Park. Tries from Ian Whitten,
Simon Alcott and skipper James Scaysbrook were the key highlights for the Devonians, whilst on-song marksman Gareth Steenson added to his seasonal tally with...
Exeter Chiefs players Matt Jess and Richard Baxter will have no excuses for being late for training from now on after being presented with smart new watches by top city jeweller Michael Spiers.
The duo were awarded the time pieces for being named players of the month for September and October.
Fittingly, the TW Steel watches are oversized making them ideal for the Premiership pair.
Exeter Chiefs corporate sales executive Chris Bentley said: "We are immesely grateful to businesses such as Michael Spiers for all the support they give to the club.
Exeter Chiefs head coach Rob Baxter has challenged his side to back-up their first-ever victory in the Heineken Cup by showing the same qualities that brought them European success in Wales a week ago.
Fresh from seeing off the Scarlets 22-16 on their own Parc Y Scarlets turf, Devon’s finest entertain Simon Easterby’s outfit for a second successive week in their latest Pool 5 fixture.
Head coach Rob Baxter has spoken of his delight after another two of his current Exeter Chiefs squad this week committed their futures to the Devon club.
James Hanks and Ben White have followed the earlier lead of club-mates Chris Whitehead, Luke Cowan-Dickie, Will Chudley, Phil Dollman and Carl Rimmer in agreeing new deals that will keep them at Sandy Park for a further two years.
Hanks, who has to date made 176 appearances for the club, is one of the club’s longest-serving players having first made his debut for the Chiefs back in 2005 against the Cornish Pirates....
Members of the Exeter Chiefs squad have already been showing their support to the Exeter Foundation, which is set to benefit every time someone tucks into a specially-made ‘Chiefs Burger’ at Urban Burger in the City Centre.
In a new incentive thought up by Urban Burger owner Garth and Melissa Pearse, the Foundation will benefit to the tune of 50p each time a customer orders the mouth-watering Chiefs Burger, which is made up of two 6oz prime Red Ruby Devon beef patties, bacon, fried onions, mayo and two slices of American cheese.
Exeter Chiefs forward Chris Whitehead was tonight recovering in hospital after an operation on his neck which could sideline him for three months.
The 26-year-old was hoping to be discharged tomorrow after an assessment by doctors.
Speaking exclusively to The Exeter Daily from his hospital bed, Whitehead said he had been overwhelmed with messages of support.
He told us: "I'd like to thank the players old and new and, of course, the fans for all of their good luck messages, it has made this experience a lot easier.
Exeter Chiefs head coach Rob Baxter has confirmed that hooker Chris Whitehead is likely to miss the next three months as he looks to cure an on-going neck issue. The 26-year-old forward, who recently penned a new two-year contract with the Aviva Premiership club, is due to undergo surgery later this week. Baxter said: "Chris has a relatively serious injury and is going to have an operation on Tuesday, and he is going to be out for ten to 12 weeks. "Chris has an on-going neck problem, a typical hooker’s problem, a bit of a degenerative issue, which we ultimately have to make a decision on....
