Porters’ strike action planned at the RD&E this weekend has been called off after UNISON and the Trust secured an interim agreement.
Both parties have held constructive talks this week, brokered by the Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service (ACAS), following a dispute over proposals to introduce 12 hour shifts for porters.

The Yarcombe and District Young Farmers Club (YFC) have donated £1,000 to the Neonatal Unit at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital to help support their work caring for poorly babies and their families.
The club selected the unit as one of their chosen charities for the year because of the specialist support it provides for people from their local community. They also chose to support the Neonatal Unit at Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton and children’s charity Over the Wall - raising £3,000 in total for their three charities, to be divided equally between them.

The Big Raise for Little Rays campaign aimed to refurbish an X-ray room so that it would be more friendly and welcoming for younger patients. The ‘Winner of Winners’ event, which was held in May at the Research Innovation Learning and Development (RILD) building, was a celebration of all the extraordinary RD&E staff who go the extra mile for patients and colleagues every day.
