An exhibition of beautiful titanic-size woodcut prints opens this month at our gallery from Friday 20th May. Every single work is swiftly and skilfully crafted by the Pine Feroda collective – comprising of five south west based artists, seamlessly working together in harmony on the north coast of Devon.

Meet all the members of Pine Feroda at the free launch event on Friday 20th May, 5pm-8pm. Formal opening by Chris Chapman, photographer and film-maker. Music by the Serenoa String Quartet.

Six members of the Devon Guild of Craftsmen have come together to respond in their own creative way to the plight of the bees and the inspirational example of the rooftop beehives on Princesshay shopping centre in Exeter.

Bees are under threat like never before. Six members of the Devon Guild of Craftsmen have come together to respond in their own way to the current plight of bees. Inspired by the example of the rooftop beehives on Princesshay shopping centre in Exeter, they have made work in the fields of printmaking, photography, ceramics, textiles and jewellery. The exhibition seeks to engage interest in how we can all do a little bit to raise awareness of the importance of bees and how, by small acts such as choosing to grow bee-friendly plants in our gardens, we can contribute to the health of our own...

Art courses draw on virtual technology for adult learners in Devon

Devon Adult and Community Learning are creating three new eLearning courses after the successful pilot of a course in the spring term.

Printmaking, Watercolours and Drawing with Colour are all on offer in a blended learning format.

An opportunity has been created for contemporary artists to explore how printmaking can extend and evolve their practice.

Double Elephant Print Workshop (DEPW) is keen to reach out to contemporary artists and are particularly interested to encourage crossover between different practices. They are looking for artists with a genuine curiosity about printmaking, but have not included it so far as part of their practice.
