Bott Ltd chooses Kia to go electric
Vehicle conversions and workplace outfitting firm bott has chosen to go electric with the order of a new Kia e-Niro electric car.
The firm, which already runs a fleet of plug-in hybrids from another brand, looked at the market and settled on the e-Niro, citing its range, practicality, reliability and seven-year/100,000 mile standard warranty each as principle reasons when making its decision.
The car is used by the company to visit clients and ensure bott’s presence on the road is seen to be more sustainable and environmentally conscious, as the company makes great strides in revolutionising its own market and implementing new low-carbon policies.
The Kia e-Niro offers a 282-mile electric range from a single charge of its 64kWh battery. Backed by an ever-growing number of public charge points, bott has had the car fully sign-written to enhance its visible presence.
Furthermore, the company is taking full benefit of current government benefits, including £3,000 off the car’s price thanks to the Plug-in Car Grant, delivered by the Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV), in addition to zero per cent Benefit-in-Kind (BIK) in the current tax year.
Following the successful integration of the electric car into its day-to-day workings and acceptance by staff, bott has placed a second order for another Kia e-Niro with Marsh Kia Exeter.
Graham Wright, Purchasing Manager at bott, commented: “We’ve run a fleet of plug-in hybrid cars for a while, and although they’ve proven great for fuel savings and served as an introduction to electric cars, the Kia e-Niro has far exceeded our expectations.
“Going electric as a company has benefited not only our staff who love the pure experience of driving electric, but also our customers who comment on the car and recognise it as a sign that bott takes its carbon footprint seriously.
“The car is in constant use and staff practically fight over the keys to get to use it, so we had to order another one.
“We looked at most other electric cars on the market, including some newer ones, but the Kia offers all that we require and more, plus is backed by its industry-leading and reassuring seven-year warranty.”
Pete Underhill, Business Sales Manager at Marsh Kia Exeter added: “It’s been my pleasure dealing with Graham over the past couple of years and being able to assist with Bott Ltd. going electric with the e-Niro. This is additionally a great example of how Marsh Kia Exeter is able to help a business investigate all the options available, with Kia’s range of vehicles that range from mild hybrid, to hybrid, plug-in hybrid and battery electric.”
All Kia models come with a seven-year/100,000 mile warranty as standard, including Kia’s electric models and their batteries. Available with two different battery sizes, the Kia e-Niro is priced from £32,845 for the 180-mile range 39kWh battery model and £37,100 for the 282-mile range 64kWh model. It can be recharged to 80 per cent battery life in just 54 minutes using a 100kW charger, and with a 50kW charger, the battery can be replenished to 80 per cent in 75 minutes for 64kWh versions and just 57 minutes on the 39kWh edition.
