Highbullen Hotel, Golf and Country Club was the proud winner of two of the most prestigious categories at the Devon Tourism Awards 2015 - gold for Venue and Business Tourism and silver for Large Hotel of the Year.

Ronnie Orr, Resort Director said, “It is a great honour to be presented with the gold award for Venue and Business Tourism.  It has been an incredible year since we first opened the Palazzo last November, when we hosted the 2014 Devon Tourism Awards. Our reputation has continued to grow, both with local businesses as well as those looking for a destination venue.”

Last year, Highbullen won gold in the Large Hotel of the Year and Dog-friendly Accommodation of the Year categories, as well as bronze in the Taste of Devon section. The accolades were also bolstered by the addition of the Best New Suite award at the International Hotel and Property Awards 2015.  These latest awards are testimony to the continued investment by the hotel’s owner, as well as ongoing staff development and training, ensuring that both the service and facilities are second to none.

As a result of last night’s success, Highbullen will now be fast tracked into the South West Tourism Excellence Awards in February, with the possibility of being invited to represent Devon in to the National VisitEngland Awards later in 2016.

The Chairman of the awards panel, David Fursdon, said: "The Devon Tourism Awards have once again shown that this county has a wonderful group of hardworking and imaginative entrepreneurs whose tourism businesses are a credit to them; a source of pride to those of us who live here and act as a powerful magnet to those who visit.”

“I think it is fair to say that all the finalists have played an important role in helping to promote Devon as a fantastic centre for tourism in the South West as a whole and we are delighted to be a part of it,” adds Ronnie Orr.
