Exeter PA Network gains momentum
Three years after its launch, the Exeter PA Network has experienced strong growth, highlighting an appetite amongst PAs and support staff for training and development.
As the only group of its kind in the city, the Network fills the gap left by recession led training budget cuts – providing regular events with the specific aim of increasing opportunities for career development and networking.
The latest event, hosted by The Met Office, attracted 70 delegates, where PAs heard from Ian Caldecourt of training consultancy Hemsley Fraser, on how to maximise opportunities at appraisal time, covering topics such as goal setting, difficult conversations and overcoming barriers.
Delegate Sophie Bevan, PA at South West accountancy firm Old Mill, said: "The Network event was very enjoyable and provided many practical insights − all aimed towards personal assistants and support staff. It also provides a great opportunity to meet with other PA's in Exeter and beyond, to share best practice in our roles."
Kim Glover, founder of the Exeter PA Network, said: “We are delighted to see so many members getting involved and we’re thrilled with our growth over three years. We’ve got an exciting line-up of events for 2015 and look forward to welcoming new and existing members”.
The next PA Network event takes place on Saturday, 28 March and is jointly hosted by the Bristol, Exeter & Plymouth PA Networks at Dartington Hall in Totnes. The event will feature award winning global facilitator and conference speaker Nick Fewings, Managing Director of Ngagement Works.
