Michelmores awards prize for commercial awareness to University of Exeter Law with Business student
Michelmores has launched a prize for second year Law with Business students at the University of Exeter's Penryn Campus in Cornwall. The new annual prize seeks to recognise the student or students demonstrating the best commercial awareness during the course of their first year studies. It will complement the Firm's prize to the University of Exeter student or students with the best overall performance on the Land Law course at Exeter’s Streatham Campus, an award launched over 20 years ago.
Tim Richards, managing partner at Michelmores said: "I am delighted to launch this new award for students of Law with Business at the University of Exeter's Cornwall campus. Business acumen is a vital skill for graduates of law and an essential part of their training as well as being something we look for in our new recruits. I hope that this prize will help to encourage undergraduates to develop their knowledge in this area."
Dr Caroline Keenan, Director of Education for the Law School, Cornwall said: "We are delighted to confirm that this year’s prize winner is Irina Campan. She was selected by the Programme Directors from both the Business School and the Law School as someone who had consistently demonstrated outstanding commercial awareness skills in both her assessed and class work throughout the year, achieving the highest marks in Business and Commercial Law subjects.”
On receiving the news of her award, Irina said, “I am thrilled to receive the commercial awareness prize from Michelmores and want to say that I am extremely grateful to them for this award. I also want to say a massive thank you to my lecturers at the Law and Business schools in Penryn for their incredible support in helping me learn and develop such an invaluable skill across my modules throughout the year.”
Tim continued: "My congratulations to Irina for winning our first prize for commercial awareness and for producing a consistently high grade in Business and Law subjects throughout the year; it is a fantastic achievement."
