Becky celebrates 25 years with Devon firm
Becky Phillips, an Accounts Senior with Thompson Jenner LLP, one of Devon’s leading accountancy and business advisory firms, has completed 25 years of service with the firm.
At a presentation ceremony at the firm's Exeter offices, partner Jon Westley, congratulated Becky on her achievement and thanked her for her loyal service.
Jon said: “Becky has huge respect with our clients and her work colleagues. She has been a pleasure to work with and we are very appreciative of all her hard work over the years and dedication to the firm. We’d all like to wish her many more successful years at the firm.”
Becky joined the firms Exeter office in 1990. She started as an Accounting Technician trainee and qualified as a member of the Association of Accounting Technicians in 1995 at the first attempt with distinction, working primarily for now retired partner Andrew Thompson. When not working at Thompson Jenner, Becky is a Mum of two and a keen supporter of Manchester United football club.
Becky commented: “It was a very proud moment for me when the firm presented me with flowers in recognition of my long service.
"I can’t believe it’s been that long the time has just flown past. I guess it’s having a great team of people to work with over the years that have made the time enjoyable. It’s only now beginning to sink in following the presentation and congratulations.”
She went on to say: “Having worked at Thompson Jenner for so long I’ve seen quite a few changes as you would expect. Of the six partners that were here when I started, there is now only Neil Curtis, our managing partner remaining, the others having retired from the firm.
"I’ve also seen some quite significant changes in the use of office technology, which includes becoming paperless, document management systems and the use of client portals for quickly transferring confidential information online.
"I look forward to many more years working at the firm, and would like to thank everyone for their congratulations and best wishes.”
