Police are appealing to the public following Christmas presents being handed in at Newton Abbot Station that are so far unclaimed.

The gifts have tags stating “To Warren from Dad” and “To Evelyn from Dad” and were initially left outside a house on Sandringham Road, Newton Abbot before being handed into the police.

A police spokesperson said: “This is an odd case and we are hoping that the public can help us identify Warren and Evelyn so we can get these gifts to them.

“At around 1pm on Monday 21st December, a man dropped off two carrier bags containing these presents to an address on Sandringham Road before leaving the area. A resident asked around but there is no-one by that name in the area, so these were handed into Newton Abbot police station soon after.

“The man who dropped off the gifts is described as late 50’s, tall with thin moustache and facial hair, and black hair. We are not sure if this man was dropping off the presents for someone else and got the wrong address, or is the father, but we would like to speak to him if possible about this.

“We would also like to hear from any siblings named Warren and Evelyn in the Newton Abbot area as we would like to be able to unite them with these Christmas gifts, if they wish to have them.

“If you can help, then please call 101 asking for Newton Abbot Police station or by quoting log number 326 for 21st December.”
