The team at Rusty Pig in Ottery St Mary is celebrating after receiving a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence.

Owner and head chef Robin Rea said: “It’s always gratifying to receive great reviews on Trip Advisor, and although you can’t please all the people all the time, we’re thrilled to see that most of our reviews are really positive.

“What the reviews seem to like about Rusty Pig is the local sourcing, the great flavours and the convivial atmosphere – our regulars know we don’t stand on ceremony.”

Now in its sixth year, the Trip Advisor 'Excellence' achievement celebrates hospitality businesses that have earned great traveller reviews over the past year. Recipients include accommodation, eateries and attractions from across the world that have continually delivered a quality customer experience.

The Certificate of Excellence arises from reviews submitted by travellers on TripAdvisor over a 12-month period, taking into account quality, quantity and timing of reviews. To qualify, a business must maintain an overall TripAdvisor bubble rating of at least four out of five, have a minimum number of reviews and must have been listed on TripAdvisor for at least 12 months.

“Being reviewed on TripAdvisor can sometimes throw up issues - but that’s actually really useful as we can then address them. So for those that previously found our toilets a little ‘rustic’, please be assured that these have now had an overhaul!” added Robin.
