Dealerweb receive ISO 27001 standard ahead of GDPR deadline
Exeter-based automotive technology company, Dealerweb - the UK’s leading provider of enquiry management systems - has successfully achieved the ISO 27001 Information Security Management certification from the International Organization for Standardization.
ISO 27001 is the global benchmark specification for information security management. The independent certification demonstrates that Dealerweb follows best practice for the legal, physical and technical management of data, and meets internationally recognised protocols for information security and risk management processes.
“ISO 27001 accreditation is proof of Dealerweb’s commitment to data security” said Martin Hill, Dealerweb CEO.
“As a data processor, this provides a hallmark that assures customers of our commitment to security management. We’re proud to be the first business of our kind to have achieved this incredibly high standard. At a time when data protection is paramount, ISO 27001 assures our clients that we can keep their information as secure as possible.”
To achieve the ISO 27001 certification, Dealerweb underwent a rigorous evaluation of its data handling systems and processes supported by international cyber security consultancy, Agenci Ltd. An audit was then undertaken by the BSI (British Standards Institute) to certify that Dealerweb achieves optimal and consistent information and data security handling for its clients. The accreditation took 12 months to achieve and involved an in-depth, systematic analysis of all data handling processes.
In addition to achieving ISO 27001 certification, Dealerweb is introducing a range of updates to its Showroom and React products, used by hundreds of dealers in the UK. The updates support Dealerweb customers in achieving the requirements of GDPR.
