New sales director strengthens team at Parkins
Devon's leading independent trade supplier of tools and equipment to general light industrial businesses has strengthened its management team with a new senior appointment.
Cath Mullin has joined Parkins as its new sales director with a remit to drive the sales strategy forward for the company including all routes to market.
Before joining Parkins Cath spent 18 years at timber and builders' merchant giant Travis Perkins, working her way up from trainee to director of customer services responsible for around a third of the UK.
"I had an excellent time working for Travis Perkins but felt the time was right to take on a new challenge," she said. "After almost 20 years working for such a large, high-profile business the temptation was to join another huge company, however the opportunity to join the ambitious team at Parkins and contribute my experience to help grow the business really appealed."
As well as being a sales expert the former Plymouth College student is heavily focused on customer service and says she is looking forward to meeting Parkins existing customers and attracting new ones to the independent tools specialist.
"What I love about Parkins is the fact all the people who work here are passionate about the products and know them inside out," she said. "This is a huge advantage over our competitors because when you come to Parkins and speak to a sales adviser you know you're speaking to a true expert who has used the products themselves and can advise with authority on the right tools for the job."
Parkins director Nigel Godefroy described the appointment as "a huge boost for the company".
"Cath's knowledge and experience is up there with the best and her enthusiasm and ambition to help us grow the Parkins brand is infectious," he said.
"The Parkins brand has been steadily growing over the last few years and it says a lot about what we have achieved that we have been able to recruit someone of Cath's calibre and experience to take us to the next level."
