Renewable energy solutions firm acquires local insulation company
Renewable technology provider, Low Carbon Exchange (LCX) has acquired Cullompton based company, Diamond Bead. Specialising in Cavity Wall Insulation (CWI), the new acquisition will add to the range of services that LCX now provide across the UK: from Cornwall to Gloucester, Kent to London and as far north as East Anglia.
Established in 2010, LCX began with a vision to help reduce fuel poverty. Kevin Childs and Andy Milne founded the company to initially deliver solar PV installation projects for a number of social housing providers and public body organisations. As the business has expanded, LCX has increased their services to include repairs, maintenance and servicing of renewable technologies.
CWI company, Diamond Bead was established in 2008, and prior to the acquisition, was based in Cullompton. Now under the LCX umbrella, the company has been rebranded as has been relocated to new purpose built premises in Willand to facilitate the anticipated growth. The new location provides a larger office space as well as a spacious board room for client meetings.
Specialising in bonded bead CWI, the business also works on cavity wall clearance, CWI refills and ECO funding applications; as well as being one of the first contractors to be accredited to the ‘Stroma – Cavity Clearance Scheme’ – a robust process to ensure that previously installed CWI systems are cleaned or removed professionally and effectively.
Having celebrated 5 years in business and a relocation to a new head office in Weston-super-Mare in 2015, the new acquisition marks further growth for LCX.
Commenting on the new acquisition, Jon Hope – Head of Business Development, Low Carbon Exchange said: “We are delighted to have acquired Diamond Bead and are anticipating a strong interest in this service amongst new and existing clients. We have retained all 10 members of staff and the new office premises have allowed room for further expansion of the team. We use Carbon Saver Bead, a unique product that has been highly accredited in the industry, and we are excited to be diversifying the products and services that we provide at LCX.”
