Maslands Litho & Digital Print add two new presses at Tiverton site

With a requirement for extra production capacity to meet increasing demand for digital print services, Maslands has installed two new Xerox Digital Presses at its site at Tiverton, Devon, to fulfill increased demand for its digital print services and meet the strong sales growth predicted for 2014.

Maslands Litho & Digital Print has over 136 years experience in the commercial printing sector, but only established its digital print department around 10 years ago, when its first Xerox press was installed. Offering the digital print service, in addition to their traditional Litho production, not only enhanced the service offered to existing clients, but brought many opportunities for new business and the addition of new products to the company’s portfolio. With these new revenue streams increasing demand for its services, Maslands soon expanded its digital provision.

Maslands has continued to identify and enter new market sectors with innovative digital print, such as web-to-print services, personalised direct marketing and photo applications, with the expectation that 2014 will see similarly high growth in demand, Maslands Litho & Digital Print decided to install its latest Xerox presses and increase the company’s digital production capacity…

“We are experiencing remarkable growth driven by the scope of high-value innovative solutions achievable with digital print technology,” says Louise May, managing director, Maslands Litho & Digital Print, “We constantly expand our product portfolio to attract new business, the versatility and high-quality results achievable with the Xerox presses enable us to do this successfully. Our customers require a high-level of print quality synonymous with the historic name of Maslands and the Xerox press can fulfil this demand.”

The digital print arm of Maslands’ print business may have only been active for a relatively short time in the company’s history, but the success it has seen during this period has had a significant impact on the organisation that operates today, with the growth of the digital division extending to almost 40% of their total turnover.

“Our main focus is to provide our clients with the solutions and support they require. With our current configuration of high quality digital and litho production and in-house print finishing services we can cater for every demand.” Says May, “Offering online proofing services and web-to-print systems, we also provide our clients with accessible solutions to make their lives easier and ensure their printed products work harder for them - increasing value for money and improving results from marketing solutions.”
