Charity launches accessible arts festival
A big week is in the planning as CEDA launch the Impossible Arts festival taking place from Easter Monday.
CEDA is a registered charity working with disabled adults and young people across Devon, providing learning, social and cultural experiences.
The week will see a number of events, exhibitions and artists come together to raise the Profile of disabled artists in the city and beyond.
Highlights of the week Include;
Monday 22nd April 2019- CEDA are hosting a family craft day at the AWESome art space gallery on Paris Street, if you around the city on this day, drop in and take part in a collaborative creative piece to launch the week.
Wednesday 24th April 2019 - CEDA are inviting the leading disability and arts organisations from the South West and beyond to join in the conversation around how we can make arts practice and workshops more accessible and inclusive. This event is a ticketed event taking place at Exeter’s Royal Albert Memorial Museum- Queen Street. This event is for professional and emerging artists, disabled artists and organisations.
Thursday 25th April 2019- A drama production being performed at The Northcott Theatre by four emerging disabled actors from the CEDA Activity Hub. Entry to the event is by tickets only and tickets can be obtained from CEDA or the Northcott Box Office. The performance will be from 2pm on Thursday with a special accessible relaxed performance on Friday 26th April.
The festival is being delivered by Exeter based charity CEDA, Community Equality, Disability Action-which provides a number of social and learning opportunities for disabled adults and young people from across Devon.
The week-long festival will also see the Introduction of a new Artist Alliance Programme, which will see professional disabled artists being recognised for their contribution to the local art scene and the mentoring given to emerging new artists accessing the CEDA Services.
