First Great Western (FGW), the train operator providing high speed, commuter, regional and branch line train services throughout the South West, is hosting the second round of the award nominated competition, Frame Your Train. Two pairs of standard class, return train tickets, for use anywhere on their network, will be awarded to the winners of the interactive photography competition.

With 9,500 services a week to choose from, spanning Banbury to Bath and Pembroke Dock to Penzance, four lucky winners have the opportunity to become a great westerner; exploring the world renowned beauty the South West has to offer.

The Frame Your Train competition calls on everyone travelling on First Great Western trains to reach for their smartphone, snap their view from the window, and upload the image to Instagram using the hashtag, #FGWframeyourtrain and the location of where your photo was taken. It couldn’t be easier to get involved! All submissions will be featured in a gallery and interactive photomap hosted on the dedicated photo competition site – just ensure the photo is geotagged.

Passengers are encouraged to get their entries in quick, with the competition closing on 1st December.

Guest judge Felicity Robilliard, digital marketing executive at Experience Oxfordshire, chose the first Frame Your Train winner on the 17 November, while Laura Valentine, editor of visitbristol.co.uk, will select her favourite in the second week, on the 1 December.

The first Frame Your Train campaign previously ran over a four-week period earlier in the year and proved to be a great success. Nominated for best SEO campaign at the UK Search Awards, it was clear from the stunning entries, showcasing outstanding views and fantastic scenery along First Great Western routes, that there are plenty of talented photographers out there.

From rolling hills to skylines, planes, and people, a multitude of images were uploaded, capturing the beauty of the South West. Entrants really do have the freedom to capture a moment personal to them, and share it on the Frame Your Train interactive map.

So it’s time to get creative! The second round of the competition gives all budding and established photographers out there the chance to showcase their photo, taken from the seat of the train. Will you be the next Great Westerner?
