Record GCSE results for Exeter School
Exeter School pupils, parents and staff are celebrating another round of consistently excellent GCSE results which have set a new record in excellence.
A record 83.4% were A* or A grades, compared to last year’s 82.5%, and 50.6% of all grades were A*.
99.3% of grades were A* - C.
There were many high achievers across the range of 21 subjects with 78 pupils attaining eight or more A* or A grades.
Forty-five pupils scored 10 A*/A grades or more.
Among the high achievers, all rounder Eka Barker-Privalova attained 12 A*s. Talented strings musician and singer, Eka played for the U16 girls’ netball team which took the Devon Cup last year and also won Exeter School’s Alumni Art Competition.
Six pupils scored eleven A*s: Sammy Sargent Music Scholar Tara Brind, twins Junior Regional Performance Centre (JRPC) U17 hockey player George and Devon Netball Academy player Imogen Milner, Ben Haigh, who helped the U16 XV win the Devon Rugby Plate, Amber Seaward, lead in Exeter School’s rendition of Twelfth Night, and Lucas Orchard-Clark who took first place in a national competition organised by the ‘This is Language’ website.
Two Exeter School pupils also scored top marks in the elite AQA Further Maths level 2 qualification, sat nationally by over 26,500 pupils. Amber Seaward and Lucas Orchard-Clark are two of just four pupils nationally to gain full marks in this challenging qualification.
