Exhibition by world-famous abstract artist comes to Exeter
An exhibition by internationally renowned abstract artist will launch at Castle Fine Art.
The exhibition, created by Alex Echo, will be displayed on 16 July, and is called ‘The shape of things’.
Alex is self-taught and has not had any training. He has been creating artwork professionally for 37 years capturing the attention of some of the world’s top corporations, institutions, and celebrities.
Best known for creating advertisements for ABSOLUT vodka, he has sold his work to celebrities such as Elton John, Madonna, and Oprah Winfrey.
His latest project ‘The shape of things’ seeks to portray human emotions and the elemental beauty found in nature.
Alex said: “My work is the connection to my inner self. I have explored every possible form of art, and yet this long process has always bought me back to nature. I hope that people can fall into these paintings and roll around in them.
“Look up at the blue sky through them. Smell the spring and summer breeze with them. And remember how important earth is to us all.”
Selina Cassidy, Gallery manager for Exeter’s Castle Fine Art said: “A disciple of techniques practised by Rothko, Pollock, and De Kooning, he combines aspects of expressionism, impressionism, and minimalism to create beautiful works of art.”
