Major music festival to be staged at Westpoint Exeter
A brand new eclectic music and arts festival, Musico, has just been announced.
The event will be an exciting addition to the ever-growing South West festival scene, which includes Chagstock and the infamous Glastonbury.
Musico will be held at Westpoint Exeter, one of the region's largest event venues, from18th - 20th July.
Westpoint’s Show Ground is to be filled with everything from live rock to vintage markets. This family-friendly event is more than just another music festival; it’s an all-round arts and music experience.
With a number of stages hosting performers from a variety of arts, Musico promises an exciting line-up, showcasing both national and local talent. Live acts will be performing a wide range of rock, blues, country, folk and bluegrass. A full line up will be announced in March 2014.
The Round Playhouse will feature three days of contemporary and classic theatre shows, while the Comedy Club will stage a host of brilliant comedians, including well-known and up and coming names. Alternative circus and burlesque cabaret will also be on offer for evening entertainment.
An atmospheric outdoor cinema will be screening a selection of creative and innovative movie favourites until late night Friday and Saturday, for a great end to each busy festival day.
With a special emphasis on family fun, Musico keeps the kids happy with a Puppet Theatre, Playzone, face painting, and Fun Fair.
Musico’s children’s area will also include its own performance space for exciting displays from BMX and mountain bike professionals. The mini skate park will also provide kids with the opportunity of giving it all a go.
In addition, Musico will host an ‘exhibition-style’ event, including teaching musical instruments and equipment, seminars and theatre workshops.
Early bird tickets are on sale from 1st November until 1st March at just £59.50 for an adult weekend ticket and £29.50 for a young adult (8-16 years) ticket. After this time, standard adult weekend tickets with camping will be £79.50, young adult £39.50, and Under 8s free. Day tickets are £18.50 for adult, and £9.50 for young adult.
