New programme of shows at The Great Hall

Exeter Northcott Theatre has announced a new programme of shows that will take place at The Great Hall on the University of Exeter’s Streatham campus.

Extending the range of work that is presented by the theatre, the new shows announced include 10cc in Concert, Jimmy Osmond in Concert, YolanDa Brown and Destiny’s Child’s Michelle Williams and Chinese State Circus.

Exeter Northcott has also announced new shows from their autumn season which are now on sale. These include Duchy Opera’s One Fine Day, X Factor winner Matt Cardle: Intimate and Live, Globe Theatre’s The Two Gentleman of Verona, English Touring Theatre’s French without Tears and Susan Hill’s classic horror, The Woman in Black.

At The Great Hall

Double MOBO award-winning saxophonist YolanDa Brown and special guest, Destiny’s Child’s Michelle Williams, bring some sunshine to Exeter with a special set entitled ‘Reggae Love Songs’ (11 June).

Celebrating the 40th anniversary of their seminal album Sheet Music, 10cc visit The Great Hall to perform two sets, including playing Sheet Music in its entirety (24 September)

Jimmy Osmond will celebrate his 50 years in showbiz by performing his tribute to the legendary Andy Williams, including the songs Music To Watch Girls By, Happy Heart, Can’t Take My Eyes Off You and of course, Moon River (8 October).

The incomparable Chinese State Circus return to the UK with a troupe of 30 award-winning Chinese acrobats, dancers and musicians which will also feature the legendary Shaolin Warriors. (19 November)

At Exeter Northcott Theatre

Narrated by John Nettles, Duchy Opera will bring the Life and Music of Giacomo Puccini to the Exeter Northcott in June.

The 2010 X Factor winner, Matt Cardle, will be intimate and live performing material from his three top 10 albums plus an exclusive preview of songs from his forthcoming LP (26 June)

Shakespeare’s Globe bring their riotous new production of The Two Gentlemen Of Verona which will be led by a joyful ensemble of players who will delight with songs, romance and chaos, and hurl Shakespeare’s anarchic comedy into the 21st century (8-11 September).

In association with Exeter Northcott Theatre, English Touring Theatre and Orange Tree Theatre will present Terence Rattigan’s French Without Tears, the sparkling comedy that first established Rattigan as “one of the supreme dramatists of the 20th century”( The Guardian) (16-24 June).

Susan Hill’s acclaimed ghost story, The Woman in Black, comes dramatically alive in this ingenious stage adaptation. This gripping production is a brilliantly successful study in atmosphere, illusion and controlled horror (14-19 November).

Escape to Neverland this Christmas with Exeter Northcott Theatre and, Peter Pan, the boy who never grew up. Directed by Paul Jepson, the show promises to be a perfect festive treat for all the family (Fri 2 Dec 2016 – Sun 1 Jan 2017).
