Excitement is building for The Day We Played Brazil
Excitement is building as rehearsals continue for this summer’s feature production at The Exeter Northcott.
Nick Stimson and Chris Williams have created an entirely new musical which celebrates Love and Hope, as told through the lives and generations of an Exeter family.
The story moves seamlessly back and forth through the years between 1914 and 2014 and entwines the trials and tribulations of Exeter City Football Club with family relationships and the events of the wider world.
Exeter City was chosen to represent the English Football Association for the 1914 summer tour of South America, they played a number of matches in Argentina, with some minor matches in Brazil thrown in to break up the trip. It just so happened that one of the matches was with the first side to represent the Brazilian nation. Exeter City was the first team to ever play Brazil! And then the First World War broke out!
Tickets are now available for performances running between 16 and 27 July, with a gala performance on Saturday 2 August. Tickets can be purchased from the Exeter Northcott Box Office on 01392 493 493 or via www.exeternorthcott.co.uk
