This August, join the East Devon Ranger team and discover colourful bugs, crazy critters and shy seawater creatures. Come along to one of the National Trust’s family afternoon events in Branscombe and you’ll be guaranteed to meet some amazing mini beasts. Children and adults can have a go at stream dipping, rock pool rambles and bug hunts. They are all free - just remember to bring your wellies!

"Our summer events are a great way to get closer to nature," explains Head Ranger, Peter Blyth.

"There is an incredible world beneath our feet that kids love exploring. You never know what you are going to find which makes it really exciting. These events are part of the National Trust’s 50 Things to do before you’re 11 ¾ .These 50 things were compiled by children all over the country with the aim to encourage kids to play outdoors and enjoy the countryside."

On Wednesday 13 August, join in with some stream dipping, meeting again at the Trust information area.

On Wednesday 20 August try something a bit different – den building. Meet at the back of the beach car park (please note the pay and display car park is not National Trust) and enjoy a couple of hours building a den from branches, leaves and whatever you can salvage, for you or your teddy.

Finally on Wednesday 27 August the Rangers will be down on the beach in front of the Sea Shanty café. All the sessions run from 1pm to 3pm, if you have a net and bucket, please bring one with you.

For more information call the Rangers office on 01297 680507. The events are free and no booking is necessary.
