New sleek black chilli powder pouches to spice up your kitchen

There are four chilli powders available: Chipotle, Ancho, Guajillo and the extremely hot Bhut Jolokia. These resealable black foil pouches (70g) all retail for £2.80 except for the mighty Bhut Jolokia chilli powder which retails at £7.35.

The Chipotle smoked chilli is widely used in Mexican cooking to add a smokey flavour and heat to stews, soups, table sauces and marinades. The Ancho is a medium-heat chilli with a very fruity flavour, which again is widely used in Mexican cooking. The Guajillo is a medium-heat chilli with a tangy flavour.

The Bhut Jolokia is a very, very hot chilli with a fruity, smokey flavour. It’s recommended to use this very sparingly and handle with care, washing hands after use. South Devon Chilli Farm suggests considering using their chilli handling kit with this one! The pouches are available nationwide in independent stores and delis. They are also being sold online at www.sdcf.co.uk and at the shop at South Devon Chilli Farm.
