Sweet treat for 'Choccie' fans

Exeter’s own independent chocolate company is now busy preparing for Christmas but with some rather exciting news.

Choccie Bar will shortly be tending to the Christmas rush from the company’s new shop in Gandy Street, Exeter.

Cuddled into the corner of the cobbled street (made famous by JK Rowling as the blueprint for Diagon Alley in the Harry Potter Books) the former Gandy Street Kitchen closed its doors for the last time on Saturday and will re-open very shortly as the newly minted Choccie Bar in time for late night shopping.

To oil the works for faithful shoppers and choccie lovers as well as lovers of the Gandy Street Kitchen, Choccie Bar will still be the home of great Panini and other gorgeous deli snacks, but will also be purveyors of all things chocolate to eat, drink and share.

Choccie bar will be a unique place to find gourmet hand-made chocolates and all kinds of choccie-related gifts including a rather stunning chocolate wine. True to it’s name, Choccie Bar will also be a place to come and sample a range of outrageous and wildly indulgent hot chocolate drinks.

Katie Jones, Choccie Bar owner, is delighted with the new Choccie Bar venue. She said: “Since winning Foodie Product of the Year as voted by readers of food magazine, our online sales have been steadily growing and it’s become increasingly important to have a base for our customers to visit.

"Tucked into the picturesque cobbles amongst gorgeous independent boutique businesses, Gandy Street is absolutely perfect."

The Choccie Bar chocolates are all painstakingly handmade and the Choccie Bar’s production is also moving to Gandy Street, upstairs where Chocolate making workshops and courses will run.

Choccie Bar will open mid-November at 29 Gandy Street.
