Every year, thousands of people travel from around the world to drive down America's renowned Route 66. Starting in Chicago and ending in Los Angeles, the route has great historical and cultural significance for Americans making it a must do journey for many bucket-listers and travellers.

Now Jurys Inn have created their own version across the UK and Ireland to enjoy: Route 57. Made up of 10 shorter road trips to allow for people to do part or all of the journey at their own pace, the journey has 57 stops along the way (hence the 57...) including Exeter as the second stop. It totals up to 2,590 miles long and takes between 5-8 weeks to complete, depending on how much time is spent at each stop.

Kicking off in Plymouth, the route takes in many of the main UK & Ireland cities such as London, Manchester, Edinburgh and Dublin as well as smaller places such as Perth in Scotland and Wexford in Ireland. Finishing in Galway, there are a number of areas of natural beauty and national parks as featured stops including Dorset AONB and the Loch Lomond and Trossachs NP.

Each location is accompanied by a brief description and picture, with the Exeter entry stating: 'Traveling onto Exeter, our route stops in a city known for its historic charm, heritage, and Gothic cathedral. Explore the underground passages, walk the Quayside, or browse the Royal Albert Memorial Museum.'
