John Lewis reveals top selling gifts in Exeter this Xmas

With just a few days to go before Christmas, John Lewis Exeter has revealed its top selling gifts for the festive period, with shoppers in Devon favouring luxury gifts and technology must haves.

The Nespresso U Coffee Machine, which offers perfect espresso at the touch of a button, and the Edinburgh Preserves Condiment For Steak gift set, which includes sauces to complement steak, are proving popular for gifts this Christmas.

However, the new Kindle Fire, which features a 7” touchscreen perfect for browsing, watching, playing and reading content, is the shop’s biggest selling item for Christmas 2012.

Sophie Hine, department manager, Gifts, John Lewis at Exeter said: “Gift buying for the family is now clearly the focus. Gifts that entertain, engage and inspire are topping people’s wish lists this year. Lots of our customers are buying those special gifts to treat their friends and loved ones this year.Technologically-based gifts are having a big impact, and they will be huge again this year, but there is also a marked and growing demand for classic gifts.
