People across Exeter can now benefit from a new range of self-help resources thanks to a city advice partnership.

Advice Exeter, a not for profit group made up of six local charities, has produced a range of ‘life events’ booklets as part of its strategy to improve services for local people.

The guides offer advice and information on the following topics: bereavement, illness and disability, job loss, new baby and relationship breakdown.

They are available at key outlets across the city and can also be accessed online. They can also be supplied free of charge to organisations and business in Exeter.

Iain Large, partnership development officer for Advice Exeter said: ‘We are working to improve the way people across the city are getting their information. This means getting the right advice from the right agencies.

‘These leaflets have been designed to offer help and information at the earliest possible stage of a life-changing experience, tackling those events and problems which can turn people’s lives upside down.’

The leaflets, which have been printed by Exe Valley Design and Print, are being stocked at various outlets across the city, including the Central Library and the Civic Centre.

If you think your organisation could benefit from these free resources please email sue@adviceexeter.org.uk or telephone 01392 208139. They are also available online at www.adviceexeter.org.uk/life-events

The Advice Exeter partnership is made up of Exeter Citizens Advice Bureau, Age UK Exeter, Young Devon, Community Housing Aid, Homemaker South West and Shelter. Advice Exeter is funded by the BIG Lottery Fund’s Advice Services Transition Fund.
