'All Cisterns Go' for Marathon World Record Attempt

Devon firm AndyLoos has given the ‘all cisterns go’ ahead for amateur athlete Marcus Mumford to attempt to set a Guinness world record for running the London Marathon in the fastest time dressed as a toilet!

But Marcus will need to ensure he’s quick out of the ‘toilet’ blocks as there will be two other runners dressed as WCs also attempting to break the world record.

AndyLoos, whose Exeter Depot is located in the Greendale Business Park at Woodbury Salterton, is one of the UK’s leading manufacturers and providers of portable toilets and shower facilities; supplying convenient facilities at some of the UK’s biggest sporting events, as well as private and corporate functions.

The firm was ‘bowled’ over when Marcus got in touch and immediately agreed to sponsor his world record attempt while dressed as a ‘WaterAid’ toilet. Marcus is hoping to raise thousands of pounds for the global water charity which works in 27 countries transforming million of lives every year.

“I want to help raise awareness and much needed funds for WaterAid so they can continue to provide clean water, safe sanitation, toilets and health education for some of the world’s poorest communities,” explains Marcus.

“It costs just £15 per head to provide safe water, sanitation and hygiene education and what better way to get support than to dress up in the iconic WaterAid toilet costume and attempt to break a bone-fide world record at the London Marathon!”

Guinness World Records has set a benchmark so Marcus needs to run in under 4 hours otherwise his world record attempt goes down the pan!

Adam Houchen, Director of AndyLoos explains why the company is supporting Marcus’ potty world record attempt, “We are incredibly fortunate here in the UK to have clean fresh drinking water on tap and access to water for sanitation and hygiene, and working at some of the country’s biggest events providing toilets and showering facilities we understand just how important this is.

“WaterAid provides such essential work in under-developed countries helping to improve infrastructure to ensure safe water, sanitation and education is available for the millions of people who struggle, and we are extremely happy to support them.”
