Cofton Holidays granted planning permission for luxury lodges collection
South Devon’s multi award-winning holiday park, Cofton Holidays, has received planning permission to build a collection of 12 luxury lodges, which are due to be completed in 2020.
Located near the pretty coastline at Dawlish Warren, construction work has started on the bespoke Copse Lodges collection and is set to be completed by next spring.
Built by Pathfinder Homes, based in Newton Abbot, the 12 cedar-clad lodges will be located in Cofton’s glorious 10-acre field above the popular camping area. With two and three bedroom lodges available to book now for breaks from May 2020, guests can enjoy both space and luxury during their stay.
Enjoying elevated views overlooking the rural countryside of the Haldon Hills, Ashcombe and beyond, the lodges are designed with panoramic floor to ceiling windows that flood natural light into each lodge. Here, guests can enjoy the spacious, open-plan kitchen, living and dining areas which include a washer dryer, dishwasher, quality crockery and glassware, a flat screen TV, fibre internet access and a wireless speaker system. The generously sized bedrooms boast luxurious white linen and modern décor. The master bedrooms will feature super king-sized beds with an en-suite shower room, while the twin bedrooms can easily be converted into doubles thanks to zip and link beds, suiting the needs of families and friends.
Outside, the lodges come with superb viewing points from the large decking area, where guests can dine al fresco against the backdrop of the sounds of nature and the bubbling hot tub, surrounded by landscaped grounds. Each lodge has VIP passes to the indoor pool and gym, and allocated parking spaces, making it quick and easy to unload the car.
Helen Scott, Director of Cofton Holidays, is looking forward to welcoming the first guests to the beautiful lodges next year:
“We’re delighted to announce that from spring 2020, guests of Cofton Holidays can stay in one of 12 modern, luxury lodges in our 10-acre field. These idyllic lodges will be perfect for families looking for their own space or even couples in need of a romantic getaway.
“Based on high ground, the lodges overlook some of the finest views in South Devon, looking inland towards Haldon and Ashcombe. Guests can stay warm and get cosy by the fire in the winter or sunbathe out on the decking area in the summer. Each lodge will feature a hot tub, which can be used all year around, with robes and towels included. You’ll be able to bask in the peace and quiet that the lodges offer yet enjoy all of the park’s facilities and fun-filled activities.”
Helen continued: “We’re anticipating that the luxury lodges will be in high-demand, and even though they’re not yet completed, we’re already receiving booking enquiries. We’ve set up an area on our website with a CGI fly-through and lodge details, where guests can take a sneak peek at what the lodges will look like and make a booking.”
In addition to boosting the local economy and encouraging visitors to the Dawlish area, the lodges will be a welcome addition to Cofton’s ever-expanding accommodation portfolio. The family-run holiday park also offers guests camping and caravanning facilities, dog-friendly cottages, modern holiday homes and impressive apartments located on the Eastdon Estate.
Guests visiting the multi award-winning holiday park can look forward to a host of on-site facilities including a heated indoor pool with a splash pad area and hydrotherapy loungers, a gym, restaurant, pub, steam room, sauna, fitness studio, soft play area, playground, sports wall, outdoor pools and much more. Guests also have access to five coarse fishing lakes, miles of cycle paths and nature trails that take visitors through woodland to the golden sands of Dawlish Warren beach and nature reserve.
Free kids’ clubs take place each day throughout the school holidays, from Easter through to the October half term. Other free activities on site include the Woodland Adventure Area which features a 25m zip line, a climbing cage, rope ladders, balance beam, balance lines and scramble nets.
The new luxury lodges are available to book now for holidays from 22nd May 2020. Prices start from £742 for a four-night mid-week break. Week breaks start from £1,128. To book, visit www.coftonholidays.co.uk or call 01626 890111.
