Exeter Business Games 2014 launches this month

The Exeter Business Games 2014 will officially be launched on Wednesday, 29th January at a fun and motivational event held at the Thistle Rougemont Hotel, Exeter.

The free event will be the first opportunity for teams to meet the Games’ Ambassador, Jo Pavey, plus giving interested teams an overview of the planned games along with details of how to sign up.

The hugely successful Exeter Business Games, which will run throughout May and June 2014, comprise of eight events such as Ten-Pin Bowling, Dodgeball and a Pub Quiz.

The Games promote business networking, employee participation and corporate wellness while raising funds for local charities via the Exeter Foundation. Last year, nearly £8,000 was raised by Exeter Business Games participants and the Games are now Gold Friends of the Exeter Foundation, recognising the donation of nearly £20,000 in the past three years.

Debbi Moore, Exeter Business Games co-ordinator, said: “After the success of the 2013 Games, we are already looking forward to seeing both old and new teams participating in the 2014 Games.

“We’re also excited to welcome Jo Pavey on board as our Games Ambassador, plus new Games Supporters Active Devon and Exeter City Council.”

Speaking about her appointment, Jo said: “I’m really looking forward to working with the UK Business Games. I am passionate about the promotion and support of sport and activity within communities and the Business Games fits this ethos perfectly.”

The Games enable companies to build stronger working relationships through the team building aspect of the activities, but more importantly are an effective networking platform for local business and often create new business opportunities for both teams and venues.
