Exeter Dunelm and customers deliver joy to Sainthill House Care Home this Christmas
Residents at Sainthill House Care Home in Exeter this week received Christmas gifts, courtesy of Dunelm’s generous colleagues and customers.
The donation was the result of the retailer’s Delivering Joy campaign, which saw Exeter shoppers purchase gifts for people in need in their local community.
First launched last year, the initiative saw almost 20,000 gifts donated UK wide in 2020, and Dunelm is on track to donate even more gifts this year.
Shoppers in Exeter were encouraged to select a gift tag in-store detailing the age, gender and interests of a recipient to buy a gift for, with purchased gifts then dropped off at in-store donation points.
Dunelm store teams across the country are now delivering the donated gifts to local care homes, schools and refuges.
Caroline Hughes-Jones, Manager at Sainthill House said: “We are incredibly grateful to our local community and to Dunelm for coming together to help our residents and staff have the best Christmas possible after another tough year.”
Daniel Dickens, store manager at Dunelm Exeter said: “It has been another challenging year for many and with the support of our customers, Dunelm is committed to helping those within our local communities who are less fortunate this Christmas.
“I would like to say a huge thank you to all our customers who have generously given gifts to help spread joy this Christmas to those that would have otherwise gone without.”
