Exeter law firm celebrates after double success
Exeter law firm Cartridges Law is celebrating this week after a double success at the Devon and Somerset Law Society awards.
The awards recognise the achievements of those in the legal profession within the two counties.
Cartridges Law was successful in winning the Sustainability Award. It recognised the efforts of the company’s ‘Green Team’, which includes staff from all departments making steps to reduce the firm’s carbon footprint. Managing partner Nicky Mein says that to be rewarded at the DASLS, is especially important to those in the group.
“At Cartridges Law, we believe that everybody should do their bit to reduce carbon emissions and to be aware of climate change. We are incredibly proud of our firm’s Green Team, and the strides that they have taken towards making Cartridges Law a more sustainable business. It’s wonderful to see their efforts rewarded in this way.”
The firm also scooped the award for support team member of the year, in recognition of Mark Fairchild who was nominated by his colleagues in the Cartridges Law family team and is described as the ‘glue’ which holds the team together.
Mark says that the nomination came out of the blue, but that it was especially exciting to be recognised in this way.
He added: “I had absolutely no idea that my colleagues had nominated me, so when I got the email through it was a complete surprise. I’m so thrilled to have won.”
Nicky said: “We are hugely proud of our staff for consistently going above and beyond for their clients and the firm. Mark’s award for Support Worker of the Year illustrates the vital importance of sound administration to the success of a team. Family work moves quickly and can be demanding; Mark makes sure nothing is missed.
“There is a wealth of legal talent in Devon and Somerset and to be recognised by our peers in these categories is a huge achievement. We are always proud of our commitment to the promotion of access to justice for all, and these awards help to show us all that we’re succeeding in that.”
