Grand Western Canal levels dropping but road closures continue

Work is continuing at the Grand Western Canal where the water levels of the lake are dropping and currently pose no there significant safety risk or concerns.

 

The Devon Fire and Rescue Service is pulling out and South West Highways will be setting up a road closure for this to happen this morning.

 

Police have arranged for a Chinook helicopter to collect a large pump today and will also be controlling a rolling road block on the A361 so that the pump can be delivered to a lay-by for collection.

 

Other road closures in the county at present are;

Wisdome Bridge, Cornwood is closed due to flood damage

A379 at Frogmore is closed due to a burst water main

Road being closed in Halberton to Sampford Peverell so that the Fire Service can recover all their equipment.

Waterstave Bridge near Bradninch is closed.
