Housebuilder supports Exeter Starlites Cheerleading ahead of competition in Paris
Taylor Wimpey has helped Exeter Starlites Cheerleading achieve success after donating £500 to the group ahead of its international competition in Paris last year.
The housebuilder launched a Community Chest competition and invited residents local to their Cranbrook development, situated on the outskirts of Exeter, to nominate local, worthy recipients for the donation. After considering all of the entries, the team proudly selected Exeter Starlites Cheerleading, a unique athletic club that welcomes all ages and abilities to compete and train in Exeter and Cranbrook.
The Future Cheer Paris competition took place in Paris on 25th November and welcomed cheerleaders from all over the globe to compete. Exeter Starlites Cheerleading successfully secured seven 1st place awards along with several 4th and 5th place trophies. In addition, the club’s senior Cheerleading team, Ignite, was crowned Grand Champions for the highest overall score in the All-Star Cheerleading division.
Jennie Packham, Head Coach at Exeter Starlites Cheerleading, said: "We’re so happy with our recent success in Paris. The Team did an excellent job competing on an international level and it was amazing to see our athletes come back home with so many wins! .
“Exeter Starlites Cheerleading aim is to raise self-esteem, build confidence and encourage teamwork. We cannot thank Taylor Wimpey enough for its funding boost and we look forward to seeing the girls take part in their next competition.”
Melissa Langton, Sales and Marketing Director at Taylor Wimpey Exeter, said: “We were delighted to announce the Exeter Starlites as winner of our community chest competition. It is incredibly important to us that we have the chance to show our support for local community groups and organisations.
“It was wonderful news to learn that the Starlites did so well at their Paris competition and we want to congratulate everyone that took part. We would also like to wish the team the very best of luck for the South West Cheerleading Championships later this year.”
Taylor Wimpey’s donation to Exeter Starlites Cheerleading is one of the many contributions being made by the housebuilder towards community facilities and infrastructure in the wider area.
