Introduction to painting wildlife

Visitors to the Axe Estuary Wetlands near Seaton will be familiar with the work of accomplished local artist and illustrator Mike Hughes, as it adorns the ceiling and walls of the Information Centre there.

Mike has exhibited at the Artists for Conservation Annual Gala, the Mall Galleries, The Royal West of England Academy, South West Academy of Fine and Applied Arts and at the British Bird Fair.

For a number of years now he has also illustrated the popular Events Guide published by East Devon District Council Countryside team.

On Friday 8 August between 10am and 1pm, Mike will be leading a workshop – Introduction to painting wildlife in acryllics - in the beautiful surroundings of the Axe Estuary Wetlands near Seaton. No experience is necessary – participants will work towards producing an accurate piece of artwork with an interesting composition.
