Man could lose sight after nightclub attack

A 47 year-old man may lose his sight after an unprovoked attack in an Exeter night club.

The victim was hit in the eyes with a bottle or glass while in Club Rococo early on Sunday Morning (24 November).

The man was rushed to hospital for emergency surgery but there is still a concern that the damage to his sight may be permanent. 

Police investigating the assault are currently studying CCTV but as yet no arrests have been made.

A police spokesman said: “We are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed anything in the club in Mary Arches Street on Saturday night into the early hours of Sunday morning.

“The incident happened at around 2.20am and we are asking anyone who saw the attack or who has any information about the offender to get in touch with us.”
