New circular walks launched in East Devon

Autumn is a perfect time to explore the countryside, so East Devon District Council's Countryside team would like to invite walkers to enjoy a circular guided autumn ramble on Saturday 24 October, from 10am-1pm, around Knapp Copse, one of East Devon’s most beautiful nature reserves, near Sidmouth.

This event officially launches a new collection of 14 new circular walks - devised by the East Devon Ramblers - leading off from the East Devon Way, the 40 mile inland route from Exmouth to Lyme Regis.

The new circular routes incorporate a fabulous selection of walks, which showcase the very best of East Devon's Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and provide numerous points to explore this outstanding environment. Most of the walks are near public transport or parking places.

Participants can enjoy a cup of warm spiced apple juice before heading off on either a three-hour or one-hour walk. Both excursions involve several hills and uneven ground. Dogs on leads are welcome. Copies of the new circular walks will be available to take away on the day.

This is a partnership project between East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, East Devon Ramblers and East Devon Countryside Team.

Knapp Copse Local Nature Reserve is owned by Devon County Council and managed in partnership with East Devon District Council.
