The Polar Express™ invites Exeter actors and dancers to audition
The talented people of Exeter are invited to audition to be part of the cast for the magical The Polar Express™ train ride in Dartmoor this winter.
Inspired by the hit Warner Bros. film The Polar Express and book by Chris Van Allsburg, the officially licensed train rides are looking for singers, dancers and actors to try out for a variety of exciting roles on Wednesday 2 October 2013 at Exeter Phoenix.
The Polar Express™ event manager, Tiffany Arthurs, and leading 2012 cast member, Jack Lovegrove from Devon who played the head dancing Chef, are holding auditions to find regional talent who can bring to life favourite characters from the much loved film, including Conductors, Chefs, Hobos and dancing elves. Set to the sounds of the motion picture soundtrack, the Conductor punches tickets, Chefs will serve hot chocolate and the pyjama-clad passengers enjoy a sing song and a special reading of the Van Allsburg classic while being whisked away aboard The Polar Express from Okehampton station.
Event manager, Tiffany Arthurs, said: “We’re looking for enthusiastic, energetic and gifted people who are full of Christmas cheer to join our on-board crew to take children and their families on a magical journey on The Polar Express to the North Pole. Being great at one of these roles will make a real difference to people’s experience on this attraction and their Christmas.
“Successful applicants must be available between Friday 16 November and Friday 27 December 2013 for the train rides. Not only will they be part of an exciting, Warner Bros backed Christmas event, but they’ll receive a fantastic seasonal job package, including accommodation for those based further afield.”
Head dancing Chef Jack added: “If you fit the bill, get in touch - it really is the best job in the world!”
For the chance to gain a place on audition day, budding actors, singers and dancers must simply email a CV and headshot to Tiffany at: tarthurs@britamrail.com, before midnight on 30 September.
Successful applicants will then be provided with a time slot for an audition.
“All Aboard!” – for those who truly believe they have what it takes this Christmas!
