Tenants will be enjoying Christmas in new homes at Cornerstone’s latest development of nine flats at Vicus House, Western Way, Exeter. The one bedroom flats for single people and couples are set at affordable rents, based on 80% of market rates, on five year fixed term tenancy agreements.

The unfurnished properties each have stylish kitchens and individual balconies as well as a communal secure bike store and photovoltaic solar panels generating renewable electricity. The site is in a great location close to Exeter city centre and the Quay and has good transportation links.

Rick Williams, Cornerstone Chief Executive, says, “Cornerstone provides quality housing where it is most needed in Exeter and surrounding areas and Vicus House is an excellent example of our commitment to this. There is genuine need for one bedroom accommodation in Exeter which is why we are so pleased to see new tenants moving in.”

The flats have been built as part of Cornerstone’s new office development by Morgan Sindall and received grant funding from the Homes and Communities Agency. In Latin, Vicus means neighbourhood and this name was chosen for the flats to reflect the historical significance of this part of Exeter. The flats are within a stone’s throw of the original Roman city walls.
