Warning of delays on A38 Plymouth to Exeter
Police are currently dealing with three separate collisions on the A38 Plymouth to Exeter road.
A woman was treated at the scene following a single vehicle collision on the Exeter bound A38 near Rattery. The collision took place at 11.20am and police, ambulance crews and the fire service attended scene. She was taken to Derriford Hospital with a shoulder injury.
Both sides of the carriageway are closed while the air ambulance lands.
A short time later, at 11.25am, police attended a two vehicle collision at South Brent on the Exeter bound road. A van and lorry were involved in the collision but there are no reports of any injuries.
The third incident took place at 11.30am and involved three vehicles on the Plymouth bound A38 near Lee Mill. There are no reports of any injuries.
Due to the proximity of the collisions there is considerable traffic disruption on the A38 in both directions.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area or expect delays.
Update at 1pm:
The Plymouth bound carriageway reopened around noon. A recovery vehicle is at the scene and the Exeter bound carriageway is due to open shortly.
