Free wheelchair rugby taster sessions in Exeter this weekend
Great Britain Wheelchair Rugby is offering the chance to try out one of the 2012 Paralympic Games most popular sport in Exeter.
Free taster sessions will be on offer for anyone who wants to have a go on Sunday 3 November from 11am-1pm and 2pm-4pm at St Peter's School, Quarry Lane.
"Our aim is to get more people than ever before playing wheelchair rugby on a regular basis. We have different levels of the game aimed to suit a whole range of disabilities,” said Kirsty Clarke, National Development Director, GBWR.
“We're aiming to put a smile on your face, as you whizz, whack and hurl your way across the court."
Everyone is welcome from players, to supporters, to coaches, and volunteers. Would-be players just need to bring some comfortable clothes and a water bottle.
"Rugby Wheels is a brilliant way of having a go, having a laugh - and getting a bit fitter at the same time."
Mandip Sehmi, Great Britain Wheelchair Rugby Elite Squad, said: "I'd really encourage would-be participants to come along and get involved – it’s great fun."
