Do you want to blossom as a floral artist?
There’s a fantastic opportunity coming up to learn to draw plants in the beautiful surroundings of the Axe Estuary Wetlands near Seaton, with a Botanical Art Workshop on Friday 16 May, 10am – 4pm.
Accomplished botanical and wildlife artist Linda Hampson will be teaching drawing techniques using coloured pencils that can be applied to any plants. Linda was a prize winner at the Society of Botanical Artists Annual Exhibition in 2013, and examples of her exceptionally beautiful drawings can be seen on the South West Society of Botanical Artists website www.swsba.org.uk
“Linda’s enthusiasm for her subject and her practical teaching style is a winning combination, said one previous student. “She explains the techniques so clearly that it really gives anyone, even beginners, the confidence to have a go, and the results are amazing!”.
No experience is necessary but booking is essential, as places are limited. Linda will be giving out guidance notes based on drawing a pansy, so participants may like to bring a pansy plant with them so that they can work from the real thing. The cost for the day is £30 per person.
