IOD expands SW team
The Institute of Directors has expanded its South West team with the appointment of Hannah Goodenough as head of Business Development for the region.
Hannah, who lives in Bath, will be based at the regional headquarters at the Science Park in Emerson's Green, Bristol, but will be responsible for retaining and attracting membership across the South West which has branches representing members in Bristol, Somerset, Bath and Wiltshire, Gloucestershire, Dorset and Devon and Cornwall.
She brings significant expertise to the role, having headed up business development for a number of companies, including BSCL, IT and cable network specialists, CableCom Networking and SMG Rover.
The appointment, the first of its kind in the region, comes in response to a growing membership in the South West which is one of the best represented regions of the Institute outside London. As well as membership development, Hannah will be working with the committee to identify and support new opportunities for its members who are typically ambitious directors and entrepreneurs.
She said: "Because this is a new role, I have in effect a blank sheet of paper which is challenging and exciting at the same time. I am very impressed with the enthusiasm of the branches which, although very different, offer tremendous value to the members in different ways, be it events, networking, director development or sharing of best practice."
Simon Face, regional director said: "Hannah's appointment comes at a time when we are seeing renewed vigour in the business community in the South West as economic recovery takes hold. As the leading development organisation in the UK for directors and entrepreneurs we are confident that our membership base will continue to grow and we will remain at the forefront of business leadership in the region."
