Lord Mayor's Wedding Fayre & Fashion Show
A lucky couple is being given the chance to get married in an historic city centre venue for free!
That's the fantastic once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that is being given away at a wedding fayre and fashion show in March.
Over the weekend of the 1st and 2nd March, The Lord Mayor of Exeter, Councillor Rob Newby, will be hosting the event in aid of his chosen charity, Socops, at the Guildhall in Exeter.
The Fashion Show, which will be aimed at brides and grooms, will take place on Friday 1 March at 7pm. Tickets will cost £10 and will include a welcome drink on arrival.
Catwalk 09 will be modelling its gowns while Moss Bros will be showing off some of its suits. Joining the models down the run way and strutting their stuff will be the ‘Faces of Princesshay’ 2012 Winners Mr Ashley Knight and Miss Lucy Nicholson.
Catwalk 09 will not only be showing what is out there for the bride-to-be, but will also be showcasing outfits for the bridesmaids, flower girls and of course not forgetting the mothers of the bride and groom.
The Cover Cupboard, a family run business, will also be making a performance, albeit a bit more subtly, by providing chair covers as well as the decorations for the run way.
On Saturday 2 March, the emphasis turns to making the big day perfect. From 10am to 4pm, people will have a chance to meet a range of local wedding suppliers who will help put the finishing touches to their arrangements. This event is free to the public.
Those attending either event will be asked to leave their contact details with one lucky couple being given the chance to get married in the Guildhall for free – a prize worth £600!
Socops is a local based charity which provides social, recreational and educational activities for children and young people with High Functioning Autism.
