Cartridges Law joins Citizens Advice Exeter legal clinic scheme
Leading local advice charity, Citizens Advice Exeter, is delighted to announce that Cartridges Law will be joining its successful legal clinic scheme.
The legal clinic scheme enables CAB clients to access free legal advice from local law firms. Cartridges Law will be providing CAB clients with specialist housing advice.
Citizens Advice Chief Executive Steve Barriball said: “We are delighted that Cartridges Law will be joining our legal clinic scheme. This has proved very popular with clients who are otherwise unable to afford legal fees. We are particularly delighted to secure the services of Cartridges Law as we have seen a 40% increase in enquires this year about housing issues.”
James Durston Housing Caseworker from Cartridges Law said: “Many clients approach our firm or Citizens Advice with difficult and urgent housing problems, including people facing eviction proceedings and seeking advice on homelessness. These can be quite complex matters, and in the current climate of cuts in legal aid, it is vital that people can get affordable professional advice. We therefore look forward to joining the Citizens Advice legal clinic to help deal with the increasing workload they are facing in providing advice to clients with housing problems.”
Cartridges Law will be joining Michelmores LLP, Veitch Penny LLP and The Family Law Company who already support the legal clinic scheme.
CAB clients can access the legal clinic scheme through the usual CAB service.
