Polar Explorer relocates to Plymouth Science Park
CELEBRATED Polar Explorer and international adventurer Antony Jinman is to relocate his Plymouth headquarters to the city’s Science Park.
Antony, who has travelled to both the North and South Poles, is one of only 12 Britons to have made it to the geographical South Pole.
As well as being an explorer, Antony Jinman is a climate change educator. He visits schools to deliver presentations on his experiences in the Arctic and elsewhere. He has also set up and runs Education Through Expeditions, which aims to provide climate change education resources for teachers and pupils through linking them up with scientists all over the world.
Anthony’s cutting edge use of technology and live time interaction ties in with the ethos of the park which is dedicated to helping to grow and support innovative and pioneering businesses such as this.
Plymouth Science Park is the only science park in the UK with a dedicated Advisory Board which offers 100 hours of free expert advice to businesses on site. On average businesses joining Plymouth Science Park grow by 30 per cent in their first year.
It has more than 100 businesses and 1,100 employees on is 25 acre site near Derriford Hospital in the north of the city and celebrates its 20th anniversary of opening this year.
